Where experience, education, and intuition create each custom massage.

At Method Massage & Bodywork in Richmond, VA, we talk to you about how your body is feeling—what’s hurting, what feels out of balance and what’s simply fatigued—and about your life, including your stresses, your health and the exercise you’re doing. Building on the information we’ve gathered, we give you a Method Massage that is uniquely customized to your body and your life.

Because Method Massage & Bodywork wants you to maintain that “feel-good” sensation for as long as possible, we also provide you with tools and resources to maximize the effects of our massage. We’ll even ask you for feedback at each visit so that we know we’re making progress toward your goals and keeping your body performing at its best.

The people behind the massage.

Meet your method.

Owner of Method Massage & Bodywork, Sarah Blehm, has always been intrigued by how the body works. In fact, she first earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Mary Washington. She always had hopes of furthering her education in the medical field, and while interning with a chiropractor her senior year at college, her mentor gave her the advice to attend massage school for more experience and exposure.

Sarah enjoyed listening to her clients’ problems, helping them resolve those problems, and ultimately, improving their quality of life. That was seven years ago. Since then, along with being Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, Sarah has earned additional certifications to provide a diversity of clients with exactly the method of massage they need.

Her style integrates elements of Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, Sports Massage, and Myofascial Release, as well as movement and specialized stretching techniques. The custom-created massage provides an intentional experience resulting in each client feeling balanced, refreshed and relaxed.

Sarah is also a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association.

Marie Miller from Chapel Hill, NC. Since then she has been working in collaborative
wellness centers for 8 years. She studied under Celeste O’brien in Denver, CO for
the past 5 years in Thai Yoga Massage. She is fascinated by the wonders of our bodies.
It was through her dance upbringing where she began to pay attention to the way
our bodies moved and worked. For 17 years she developed her love and skills as a
performer & dance teacher. She studied Dance and Choreography at James Madison
University & Virginia Commonwealth University of the Arts. Most people don’t know
that she was on the dance team for her college (VCU) and for the Arena Football
league (AFL) Richmond Speed. After dancing she naturally transitioned to a new love.
She had been growing her personal yoga practice for 15 years. In July of 2015 she
took her practice to a new level and completed a 200hr teacher training at Kindness
Yoga in Denver, CO. Her genuine love for life and those around her carry into her
nurturing massage style. She seeks to comfort, heal and adapt to all of her clients.
She has developed an intuitive sense for working with athletes, mothers, rehabilitating
clients & business professionals. Most of her clients love her firm consistent
pressure, trigger point work, Thai style stretches/compressions, head and neck focus
& Reflexology. She is a proud member of the Yoga Alliance (since 2015, RYT-200hr),
Thai Healing Alliance (since 2010), Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals
(since 2007) & NCBTMB (since 2008).
